Let's help each other here, if anyone knows the answer, please help me with it. Thanks!

•Document Checklist [IMM 5612] (PDF, 244 KB) March 2013
Print it and if you have any questions regarding the list, ASK ME anytime.
You can also ask your HR to just copy and paste your format in a USB and ask them to print with a company letterhead and let them sign it. Make sure that all the details stated there are true and they should sign it.
"if your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the original version." www.cic.gc.ca
I got WES, because it's cheaper and found it easy to navigate their site.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I would like to ask you about fill up the form. For those information which is not enough space to write in the from, can the further details documents be like this?

Thank you Ben,

As for the meantime, to answer your question regarding the native language....YES, you can print the form and write it in using BLACK ink.

Use of representive form (IMM5476.pdf) is only mandatory for those who use migration agent? We don't need to submit this form if we do by our own. Right?
Sorry to ask so many questions.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, I'm here to help.
You still need to submit your marriage certificate and ask your husband to sign and submit the original copy of Statutory Declaration from Non-Accompanying Parent/Guardian for Minors Immigrating to Canada (IMM5604). This comes with his photo ID showing his signature.
About the declaration of your separation of your husband, I suggest that you consult an attorney.
In Generic Application form, for us
Program under which you are applying - Economic
Category under which you are applying - Skilled Worker
Is that correct? It seems obvious, just want to double confirm as I am not sure about the term they use Economic for skilled worker.

Regards,
I included your concerns at the "Upcoming Posts", right sidebar of my blog.
In IMM5562E (Supplementary Information Your Travels) form, 2- List all trips you have taken outside your country of origin or of residence in the last ten years.
My home country is Myanmar and now working in Singapore. So I don't need to include those trips I made between Myanmar <->Singapore. Am I right?
Sorry to ask this question. Because I dare to decide by my own. :)
Regards,
Can CPF consider as Liabilities?
Regards,
Try to ask the CPF people on how to get the document for that. Sorry, I don't have a CPF that I can share my knowledge to you. If you get one, please share it here. Thanks..
Can you help me. What should i write in "Immigration office requested for processing this application" ..Currently working here in Singapore. Saw this in singapore.gc.ca
The Immigration Section in Singapore serves as the Regional Processing Centre responsible for the processing of applications for citizens and residents of the following countries:
Applications for Temporary Resident (Visitor) Visa, Study Permits, Work Permits, Travel Documents (for Permanent Residents Returning to Canada) – Bangladesh, Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Applications for Permanent Residence (Immigration) – Bangladesh, Brunei, Burma, Myanmar (Burma), Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Philippines is not included. I'm applying under FSW. What did you write in IMM 0008? Thanks
You can also put PHILIPPINES because they will send it there anyway and you are not a citizen or a permanent resident in Singapore.
Hope you can help me.
I finished my first course (4-yr Bachelors degree) in a university. Then I took up nursing right after graduation. Confusion starts here:
Nursing is a 4-yr program but minor subjects from my first course were accredited. I took up only one semester from college A...then transferred to College B in Manila. It took me 3 yrs to finish nursing in college B. So my question is what should i write in overall years of post-secondary?
a. 4+3 = 7
b. 4 + 0.5 + 3 = 7.5
c. 4 + 4 = 8 since nursing is a 4 yr program.
Thanks for your help! :)
1. Hubb and I are both elementary teachers, unfortunately we are not in the listed 50 occupations. However, can we apply under 'Early childhood educators and assistants' given that our job nature is very similar to that? Are Singaporeans required to take the English test?
2. How different is applying a work permit as compared to applying under FSW? Do work permit holders enjoy less rights and opportunities?
3. How long is the application process? I read that it is anywhere between 3yrs to 5yrs, is that true? We are doing the big shift during 2016 Jan, when do u think is a good time to apply?
Many thanks and look forward to ur response!
1. Yes, as long as your job descriptions are similar and you can provide evidence like Certificate of employment for that job.
All applicants need to submit a language test such as IELTS.
2. For work permit, you need to have a Canadian employer to sponsor you, while FSW doesn't. FSW arrives in Canada as Permanent Resident with PR benefits, Work permit is still a Foreign worker with worker benefits only. This is the same concept of Pass holders and PRs in Singapore.
3. Good time is now. It will take 9-12 months from the date of your submission, given that you'l send their request promptly. Canada keeps on changing their rules, you will never know when your occupation is taken out from the list.
Do we need to make a trip down to the canadian embassy? Like gather all e documents and stuffs? Woah, seemed like a tough race.
Las I heard those who graduated from the 3 local uni do not need to take the english test, Boy, is it difficult. Seemed like a long time since we took any exams. Tok abt being singaporeans...
Thanks for all e advice again. Will apply soon, all e best in canada!
-You will be the dependent if your hubby is the principal applicant.
-You can work there because you'll be a PR.
-No need to go to Canadian embassy, if you have gathered all your documents with the full application, you can send it to Nova Scotia, Canada...the address is in the form.
-are the locals applied for FSW? All FSW applicants needs a language test result...
Hoping for the Best!!!
In the Document Checklist form, it mentions that "If you are unable to provide any of the requested documenatation, include with your application, a written explanation with full details as to why that documentation is unavailable.........."
For example, Additional Dependants Declaration (IMM0008DEP) , Use of a representative (IMM5476) , Arrange Employment etc are not applicable to me. So do I need to write anything for these documents Or just leave it untick on the Checklist form?
If you don't mind, can you share how you wrote for not submitting "Police Certificates & Clearances" ?
Regards,
Tun
For Certified true copies, do I need to send the Original Notarial Translation letters or photocopies of Notarial Translation letters?
Regards,
For the Proof of Funds, should our bank cash balance state the whole amount of the required funds? Or can we add the assessed value of a property to attain the required funds?
In the Document Checklist, it says "Attach small items such as photos and certifiied cheques with a paper clip, otherwise leave documents unbound." Does it mean we cannot stapler the forms? I am thinking of stapler each forms and put label (1 to 20) with post-it note. I think it will help the officer to review the documents easily?
Sending Your Application
Thank you for your reply. Also in the doucment checklist, we need to tick for those documents we can submit. How about those documents not applicable to us? Can we just X cross the box? or write NA on the box? How did you put when you submit your application.
Please advise.
If you can not get a COE from your current or previous employers, you can provide the copy of your work contract since it has all the details of your job description there, i assume, and a copy of your payslip. If really unlucky and no way to produce it, provide a written letter why you cannot produce such document.
Hope this helps.
Now, the things that you need to concentrate are the other factors such as language, education, etc...
I have submitted my application last week and it reached to to NS yesterday. When the $550 application fee will be deducted (roughly how many week/month)? If they money is deducted, can I assume that my application is received before the cap is reached?
Regards,
Tun
What did you fill in for UCI in the main application forms? What does UCI stands for? I don't have a fax number, is it compulsory to enter one as I cannot validate the forms accurately?
For your children, which dependent type are they? Is there any difference in the different dependent type?
Type A: Dependents who are below 22 years old and Single (unmarried)
Type B: Dependents who remained scholastic financially dependent (since before age 22 or married before age 22)
Type C: Dependents who are 22 years old and above that depends financially with parents since before age 22 and cannot support themselves because of medical condition.
My children are still under 22, so they are Type A.
It could be an indirect investigation like acting as a customer or something. As far as I know, no one called.
What did you fill in for the visa office responsible for your application in the main application form? Btw, nice post you have on which province to settle and live in. When are you leaving? How long do you reckon you need to find a job?
You see, I realise many Chinese, Indian, Filipinos, Vietnamese... etc are very adaptable. They excel and do well wherever they go. I am a Singaporean, still confined in my comfort zone, not sure. If I'm even willing to take the plunge if I eventually got my PR. How do you cope with leaving a familiar place to start anew in a foreign island? I believe our advantage is we are still very young (Hub and I are in our late twenties), but that's what holding us back. Any advice?
I chose Singapore as the responsible visa office. But, the Canadian Embassy Manila was the one who asked me for a medical check up and other additional documents. Then during the stamping of visa, Manila instructed me to submit our passports in Singapore. I was a bit confused. What I did was to only follow their instructions. Now I'm waiting for our passports with stamped Visas, hopefully this month.
I'm leaving probably on October, I hope to see you all before I leave SG. I'll post about that meet up around September. I can get a job in Canada within a month, but it's a survival job, $11/hr.
Regarding your questions on coping up with leaving my comfort zone, I'll make a dedicated post for that.
Looking forward to your dedicated post soon!
"Immigration Requested for processing this application? : SINGAPORE"
I'm still here in SG and my sister informed me that she can refer me to her agent to get a survival job at $11/hr. As long as I'm not choosy, I can get a job within a month, she said.
Note: As of May 1, 2014, there is an overall cap of 25,500 for new federal skilled worker applications. This includes a cap of 500 applications from PhD students. There are also sub-caps of 1,000 for each of the 50 eligible occupations. The caps do not affect people with a valid job offer. These are the last applications we will accept under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015.
Does this mean that we need to submit our applications before the launching of Express Entry in 2015? I'm in the midst of preparing my documents and preparing for ietls exam. The problem is I think I need more time because of my workload this Aug-Sept. My initial target month of submission is on Oct and ietls exam on Sept. But I'm thinking of pushing it for another month. So ietls = Oct, submission = Nov.
Cap for my NOC is still 0 as of now. Procrastinating I know. It's just that I'm not confident enough that I'll meet my target IELTS band that's why I need more time to practice :(
Wahh I need motivation. yay
I'll appreciate your advice on this matter.
If you send your application on November given that the quota of your occupation haven't reached yet, your application will still be processed.
For your information, IELTS tests can be scheduled during Saturdays or sometimes Sundays, depends on the test centers. Why not take this opportunity.
The only thing you need to review in IELTS is how they conduct the exam. Because reviewing English as a whole takes years. You check my post, maybe it might help.
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/07/ielts-test-centers-and-locations-with.html
So, you try to take your IELTS as soon as possible. You can do it!
Take note, you need to do this before the Approval of your Visa...else, you will have to apply for Spouse Sponsorship.
British Council would only give one copy of original test result, right? And this original report will be included in the application.Just wondering, what if I need the original report for my other applications, immigration to Australia for example. ANy idea?
Form for Additional Test Results: http://www.britishcouncil.sg/sites/britishcouncil.sg/files/request_extra_trf.pdf
Just send them your Diploma and request your school to send the TOR directly to them.
In my opinion, your grades are the most important factor for the assessment, not how long you achieved it...it's reflected in your TOR. You can send a letter though...there's no harm in doing that.
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/05/settlement-funds-prepare-for-fsw.html
http://www.wes.org/ca/required/International_Transcript_Request.pdf
Print, fill up the details, sign, and send it to your school. Your school should know this procedure and they will send this together with your Transcripts to WES.
Hope this helps.
First of all, the Oz and the Canadian Immigration requires different modes of IELTS, the former requires ACADEMIC test while the General test would suffice for the latter. You CANNOT USE the IELTS results (general testing) for both immigration office.
Secondly, I read that for Express Entry, applicants will submit their work portfolio and profile to Canadian Immigration and the companies will seek out potential candidates from the immigration authority and these applicants will have priority over the rest of those who are not 'chosen'. This will result in a backlog of applications for applicants like some of us who are not exactly in 'huge demand' now. So, submitting your application later is a bad idea.
Thirdly, if you own a property in Singapore like me, you can get a private assessor to furnish a valuation report for your HDB flat, this is because you need to declare liabilities. You will find it hard to go through HDB for this request, so I suggest you look for a private assessor like I did, prices range from 200 to 400, can bargain.
Lastly, IELTS is not that difficult, like what Ben have shared, you can proceed to the links that Ben has provided and finish the online tests. Be prepared and try your best. Hope this is useful.
Thanks a lot!
To clarify the IELTS test type, you need to take the IELTS (General Training) for FSW Canada application.
For the meet-up, I will definitely schedule it soon, even if nobody will come *cricket noise*, LOL! I will post the event here...it might also be my farewell party in SG before I go back to Philippines then Canada.
It is stated that you will receive 4points for band 7, 5points for band 8 and 6points for band 9. What happens if you are awarded 7.5 marks or 8.5marks. I asked because 3 of my components came up to 8.5 marks, do they award me 5 points 6 points or 5.5 points.
Reading (6.0 = 4pts.; 6.5=5pts.; 7.0-9.0 =6pts)
Speaking (6.0 = 4pts.; 6.5=5pts.; 7.0-9.0 =6pts)
Writing (6.0 = 4pts.; 6.5=5pts.; 7.0-9.0 =6pts)
Listening (6.0 = 4pts.; 7.5=5pts.; 8.0-9.0 =6pts)
Link: IELTS Points Table (STEP 2)
Assuming that your lowest component has 8.0 mark, each of your component will have 6 pts. with a total of 24 pts for your English.
Assuming that you did not take French, it is '0".
Total Language Skills = 24 pts.
For spouse's IELTS to qualify for the additional 5 points, what is the required band score?
Listening: 4.5 and above
Reading: 3.5 and above
Speaking: 4.0 and above
Writing: 4.0 and above
I'm applying and going to send my education documents to ECA, so just wanted to know whether we would be required to mention about the NOC anywhere.
If you want to know more on ECA such as WES. Read this post link.
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/08/how-to-know-your-degree-equivalence-in.html
When you fill up your address in the application form, What did you fill up for Unit No and Street No. Am I right to say that Street No refer to the blk and unit no is what we often say it is?
For example:
Block. 123 Jurong Ave. #18-1009 , Singapore..
Street No. - 123
Unit Number - 18-1009
Street Name - Jurong Ave.
Regarding claiming points for my education
i have done
B.Sc Maths (Under Graduate)- Regular
MCA(Post Graduate) - DISTANCE Education
1. Do i need to Assess both degree with WES or only post graduation(MCA) enough?
both degrees in different universities
2. is DISTANCE Education counted for FSW points?
Please clarify
2. Sorry, you will only know once you get the results from WES.
How do U send the package via DHL? Call DHL to pick up the parcel from home and have them delivered to Canada?
Do you think it takes much longer for SG visa office to process the visa? Does the 12 month timeframe apply to SG?
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2013/07/tracking-my-document-in-dhl-singapore.html
Based on my timeline, they are pretty fast now since the backlogs on pre-2008 were already reduced.
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/08/my-timeline-federal-skilled-worker-fsw.html
Thanks for the post on address label, I actually missed that one out. While I was checking my application one last time yesterday night, I jumped upon the discovery that I have missed out my educational certificates and transcripts! I nearly just sent out the application! LOL! The checklist is misleading, one would have forgotten about the certificates and transcripts after getting the ECA report lol...
Thank you for your excellent blog!
Oh one more thing, the document checklist says to leave all documents unbound except for small items like photos. I understand that you have stapled documents that are more than 2 pages, not sure if I should do the same. I have heard scary tales of people who sent everything but CIC missed out their forms (returned the package and said that it was incomplete despite that they have sent all the necessary items, recipients lost documents like IELTS results and ECA report...) Thinking that stapling them makes it easier for CIC... What's your advise? Will be sending the parcel these few days, everything's set to go :)
That is why we need to staple same documents...Just imagine a Visa Officer's table, it must be wide enough to review our documents right? But, what if its not...maybe they are using a small desk and a desk fan or what, and it blew all the documents, or fell down accidentally, we don't know. at least, they know how to compile it again. just my thoughts..thanks also for the compliment.
Just like you, I've been working in Singapore but it's only been 10 months since. And now i'm trying to move to Canada. I'm just holding an employment pass here.
In the "Generic Application form" for the FSW, should I put Singapore as the CURRENT COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE since it's over 6months that i'm living in the country.
Note: During my Positive Review, Canada assigned my documents to Manila. I don't know why. So, I have to communicate with Manila Visa Office with their requests for additional documents.
Anway, you can choose between SG and Manila, at the end of the day Canada will do the assignment.
Thanks for replying in my previous questions!
In the IMM0008_3E (Schedule 3 Economic Class), in the list of occupations, do I put the position title in the company or the NOC position?
For example, I worked as Software Developer but the corresponding NOC is 2174 - Computer Programmer. Which title should I put?
Secondly, how do I put the number of experience if I only had 10 months in the company? There's no checkbox for < 1.
Lastly, I don't have assets other than my savings in the bank. Does that mean:
Assets: X CAD
Liabilities: 0 CAD
Settlement Funds: X CAD
Where assets and settlement funds are equal.
Judith
1. Put your designation in your company, and put the corresponding NOC at the box provided. (Software Developer - NOC 2174)
Please read this posts regarding the work experience question.
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/07/years-of-work-experience-how-to-compute.html
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.com/2014/08/how-to-know-your-noc-code-and-filling.html
See my sample work experience template.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GFw4L2K_tTE8_DD8Vh7KZh2zU-cnTAvBOcGn1f3AKPc/edit?usp=sharing
2. You need to provide a separate attachment. Please see my sample template (above link).
3. Your assets and liabilities are correct.
Another question, how do you put the "To date" of your current job in the list of work experience in IMM008_3E? Did you leave it empty?
I have the result na from WES it says Canadian Equivalency: Completion of secondary school education and Diploma (three years) how many points did i get now? Thanks :) God bless.
I'm applying alone, no family is accompanying me. Do I need to include photos of my family (parents and sisters)?
J
Family members (Dependents) are the following:
Spouse
Children
I'm planning to move out from to another HDB on October but I'm submitting my application this month. Then I will my address in Philippines as the mailing address. Would that be a problem?
J
But, I didn't update the CIO and waited for their Medical Request instead. I just kept on asking the old HDB owner for any incoming letters.
CIO always sends me the correspondence to my email address.
When they sent the medical request, that's the time I replied to them that I had transferred to a new address. They didn't change my address during our medical until to the visa approval stage.
I suggest that you use your Philippine address and just update the CIO once you receive their decision.
If I'm using a separate sheet to answer a question in the form, should I leave the question blank then? How do I indicate that there's an attached sheet for that question?
Judith
In the general form, which national id should I put? Is it the id from the country you were born or your residing/current country? I work at singapore, should I put my IC? But if I put in my SSs, there's no issued date and expiry date in that ID though.
J
Can I put "Not Applicable" in hand written?
J
In the Additional Family Information form where we put our siblings. If your sister is already married, which last name should she use? Maiden or Married name?
Judith
Are TORs mandatory? I thought diploma + WES are enough proof of education..
Transcript of Records (TOR) is mandatory as stated in the IMM5612 Checklist.
My category is under the HR Manager subcategory as 1223. Will it still be considered under 50 categories?
http://memovingtocanada.blogspot.sg/p/resources.html#.VBf60fmSz0Q
I'm a chemist here in the Philippines and working as the Laboratory Supervisor for one of the main oil and gas industry. I don't know if this can be under petroleum engineer or is totally restricted to 2112(chemist). This may or may not be part of the 50 allowed workers in the CIC list for FSW in Canada.
Thanks! Hoping for your reply.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2145
If you have the same or somewhat related duties stated on that link, then you can apply for FSW using NOC 2145.
I have a Bachelor degree and diploma. Should I send both to the ECA for assessment ?
Thanks.
As per site, 5 years of experience means 13 points and 6 years means 15 points. But 5+ years means what is the point ?
Is it necessary to send the Academic Request form to the School? Must it be send together with the transcripts to the ECA by the school?
thanks.
Michael
http://www.wes.org/ca/fswp/requireddocuments/index.asp
My wife has already taken the IELTS Academic option and her results can fulfilled the requirements. Does she still need to take the General option to claim points for spouse language?
Thanks.
Mike
Form IMM5562. There are some travel to countries that I cannot remember or have any records.
How should I fill in?
Thanks
Mike
I don't keep the old passports. is it okay I fill just what I have in the latest passport?
Thanks
Mike
Could you please help me with below questions
1) What is the points for
10th standard + 3years (diploma - DME) + 3 years (engineering-BE) &
10th standard + 12th standard + 4 years (engineering - BE)
2) For the proof of fund, is it required that the amount should be on primary applicant's name or it can be on the applicant's dependent as well. In other words can a primary applicant can show the funds of dependents also for ''proof of funds''
2. Just transfer the funds of your dependents (children) to main applicants and get the Bank certificate. If it's your spouse account, you can use that as common POF as it is a conjugal asset (for married couple).
For the photograph, must i submit my parents photos even though they are not migrating with us?
Thanks.
Mike
Thank you for all of your replies. Could you please help me with the below doubts.
1) Both of my wife and myself are planning to apply for FSW visa. Is it legally allowed husband and wife apply 2 separate individual application?
2) Can my wife add me as her dependent and can i still apply as an individual applicant.?
1. I suggest that you just choose who is mostly qualified to apply for the program.
2. Any principal applicant can add his/her spouse as dependent.
I have two questions to ask:
Which forms should be filled for my 3 years old daughter?
I and my partner are not married so we have to sign Statutory declaraton of common law partner form right? My partner has life insurance on him which name is me as beneficiary, is that enough evidence for? (apart of having our daughter). Thanks for reply
.
I am a Supply Chain (Operations) Management Trainee working for the last 2 years in a reputed multi national FMCG company. Management trainees by virtue of the role, rotate among the different deartments of the company before settling in a permanent position.
I do have experience in our manufacturing department. Do you think I will be eligible for applying in NOC Manufacturing Manager?
Also, can you please suggest a provicnce which has gret employment opportunitites?
Thank you for all your responses. It was very helpful and i do have few more questions
1) I am from India. My wife is in USA since Dec 2012.I join and staying with her since March 2014.I am confused about selecting visa office.Whether i have to select visa office in India or USA. which one is best for us ?
2)My wife is Pregnant. She is going to give birth in Jan 2014.How & when should i add my baby in the dependent's list?
Regards
Vijay
1. Your visa office is USA, Buffalo. unless of course you see yourself moving to India in the next few months. The VO will decide which office you go to, so it doesn't quite matter.
2. If you had sent your application to Canada already, you add your baby's details only after you receive your PER, just need to update the VO thereafter.
I'm single and will be applying for FSW this year. What should i put in my dependents? My parents? But they wil not (yet) accompany me.
I'm confused. Should I include their pictures (as indicated in docs list: photos for each member of your family ;whether accompanying or not) . How about the settlement funds? Do I need to prepare for one person (prinicipal applicant) or 3 (including parents).
Need advise.
Thanks
What are tthe docs that should be certified true copies? From the docs listed, only COPIES and not CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES. Please enlighten me. thanks
Thanks
In my original application for FSW 2014, I listed my dependents as NON-ACCOMPANYING. However, after I received a correspondence with the local VO, I updated them as ACCOMPANYING by sending the updated forms as well as the payment for their processing. Is it allowed? Will it cause any delay?
Hope all is well in Canada. All the best!
My current job falls under NOC code 1112 where I have a little over 1 year of experience. My earlier job falls under NOC 2171 where I have 3 years of experience. I would want to continue working under 1112 but the applications under that code are almost capped out. What are the implications of applying under 2171 in this case? Will I be able to apply for 1112 jobs after becoming PR? Will my PR card say that I got in through 2171 and not 1112? Will my application be less strong if I apply under an NOC which is not my current job? If there are no such adverse implications and I go ahead with applying under 2171, do I say that my intended occupation is 1112 or 2171 in my Generic application form? Please help!
If you are concerned, you may have an updated Travel form couriered to CIC. In the cover letter, please include you name, date of birth, country of residence, visa office, passport numbers, the date your parcel was received at CIC and the airway bill number of your parcel. I couriered other documents to CIC too and emailed them about it. They replied to ask me about my airway bill number and passport number which I didn't include, it really wasn't a great deal because I think it didn't affect my application. I was told that they may not be able to match my parcel with these documents which was fine too because it didn't affect my PER in the end.
what would be her education level?
|
NONE
or
SECONDARY or LESS
Question: All my forms and documents are ready to be mailed, I have read that we shouldn't Staple the documents with the supporting docs and should keep all open. Some say I should add separator sheets.
Can you tell me best way to how should I arrange or prepare my file for submission so its easy for CIO to understand?
i applied for fsw in late july 2014 and have not heard from CIC. should i assume that my application has errors or did not fall through?
thx
Great work you are doing here. I do have some concerns bothering on Express Entry starting in January 2015.
All the while, I had my mind fixed on April 2015 when the current FSW will end. Some forums gave the indication that FSW 2014 will run concurrently with EE till April 2015. More do, there is no ministerial instruction that FSW 2014 will end in Dec 2014.
I know I should have started earlier but I had to sell a landed property just so I can meet the minimum requirements for POF. More so, my IELTS date is in January while my institution claimed DHL mistakenly couriered my transcripts to New York which is now being sent back so it can go to WES Canada hopefully this week.
I am so confused right now but hoping for the best and that Express Entry will do the trick for me.
What I want to know is will the requirements for EE be the same as the current one? ie will minimum points, POF be a major requirement in EE.
I have tried reading up information on EE but i'm still not clear except that your chances are good if you get picked from the lot at the Job bank.
Do you think EE is a better option. At the moment, am a stay at home mom but I do have 9 years experience in my chosen NOC. What do you think and how can you advise me.
Thanks for your response.
Can't help but need to chip in on this one again, maybe because I am a mother too.
The criterions for EE is not out yet, and there hasn't been any ministerial instructions on when is the end date for FSW 2014. Some say April, some say May while others insist that it will run for as long as the entire 2015. Nobody can know for sure, and what's gonna happen if your application reaches CIC the day FSW 14 closes but the occupation isn't capped yet?
Since there hasn't been any announcements and personally, I don't think you should trust what you read in the FSW 14 forum, they are sometimes overly subjective. You best bet is Jan 15 (latest).
Having your application selected in EE is as good as being struck by lightning. I am sorry if I sound very pessimistic, but Canada is not a place looming with idiots, it is where some of the world's most brilliant and finest talent congregate. I connected with many Canadian professionals on LinkedIn and they are million miles from being replaced, the job market isn't optimistic either.
Of course, if you are extremely talented with very niche specialty, your chances will still be good. Otherwise, you will be pounding on unanswered doors. It's like applying for a job on job bank, how often do you get called for an interview?
If time permits, send in your application now. You have a higher chance in fsw. The processing time is much faster now, several FSW 14 applicant have already landed in Canada.
